Jimbaran, 10 June 2022 - The Environment Agency of Prabumulih conducted a comparative study at the Samtaku MRF in Jimbaran on Friday (10/6/2022). The agency had the opportunity to see the waste management process starting from receiving waste, weighing, sorting, processing, to the final products being produced.
The MRF which is located in South Kuta, has a total capacity of 120 tons per day and is currently capable of processing 70 tons of waste per day. This facility contributes to reducing waste from Badung Regency which is managed in this facility by up to 40%.
Waste management at the facility, which is managed by Reciki, uses a circular economy model and Zero Waste to Landfill. This means that the waste collected at this facility will later be managed and can be fully reused so that nothing is wasted into the environment or ends up in the landfill.
Currently in Prabumulih, waste capacity reaches 34,000 tons per year and as much as 67% is waste that is not managed. With this condition, the Prabumulih landfill will be overflown by 2023. It is hoped that the Samtaku MRF in Jimbaran is the model that can be taken as an example to be replicated in Prabumulih or other areas.
